The American Legion, in heartfelt collaboration with all veteran organizations in Watertown, is calling on our community to help bring a powerful and permanent tribute to those who served and sacrificed in the Vietnam War. Together, we aim to establish a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall right here in Watertown, Wisconsin—a place where honor, remembrance, and healing can live on for generations.
This memorial will be permanently located at Aero Park, near the airport, and will be illuminated and accessible 24 hours a day. It will be the only Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in the Midwest, north of St. Louis—a sacred space where families, friends, and future generations can come to reflect and remember.
Stretching 320 feet in length, with panels ranging from 2 to 8 feet high, this 80% scale replica of the Wall in Washington, D.C. bears the names of over 58,000 brave Americans who gave their lives in service to our country. Each name etched into the Wall tells a story of courage, sacrifice, and love of country.
Our goal is to raise $400,000—a shared mission among all local veteran organizations. This funding will cover the cost of the Wall’s purchase, transportation, site preparation and excavation, lighting, benches, security cameras, and long-term maintenance. Every dollar brings us closer to honoring our heroes in a way they so deeply deserve.
The American Legion is a 501(c)(19) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. EIN: 39-0784079
